About

Hello! I am Candace Prewitt, I am the Lord’s servant. I have been making art for as long as I can remember. I love the way God speaks symbolically. With my art, I experiment and rearrange ideas with words or in images. I like finding common connections highlighting the beauty of creation, glimpses of God’s details in our lives. Quiet and rhythmic, capturing clues of spiritual connection. As the season’s change so do my art making habits. Winter brings the desire to work with warm yarn. Spring is the excitement of seeking beauty of flowers in photography or quick water colors. Summer hikes leads me to make temporary nature mandalas and capture nature in film. The fall slowing down guides my hands to writing and reflecting, harvesting food and ideas. I like using traditional tools for creating, and often will incorporate recycled items or simply just use ink and paper. Generally, my art is calming, but often I surprise myself with bold colors. My art gives a place to pause, reflect, and add one’s voice to the story. I like the challenge of learning new methods of creating and sharing those ideas with others. Most recently I have been learning to work in oil paints. I am soon to pursue a Master’s in Art ministry and am looking very much forward to helping people find healing through the Holy Spirit with art production.
